Virtus.pro have booked a place in the last-four stage of the CEVO Professional Season 7 finals after disposing of Natus Vincere 2-0 (19-15 on de_overpass and 16-5 on de_train).
The Upper Bracket final of Group B brought together two European heavyweights, with Virtus.pro looking for redemption after giving a poor account of themselves at the FACEIT League Stage 2 Finals the week before.
For a team who had looked way off the pace in Valencia, Virtus.pro seemed to have made considerable improvements in the last few days as they followed up a 2-0 win over Tempo Storm with a victory over ESWC champions Na`Vi, also on two maps.
Virtus.pro advance to the semi-finals
The first map of this best-of-three series was de_overpass, where 30 rounds were not enough to determine the winner. In overtime, Virtus.pro, who relied on strong individual performances from Filip "NEO" Kubski and Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski, both reaching 30+ frags, were able to take down their opponents to pick up a 1-0 lead in the series.
The map that followed was de_train, where Virtus.pro were simply far too hot for their opponents to handle, leaving Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács frustated as he could not prevent Na`Vi from being thumped despite picking up over 20 frags on this map.
